One thing about living in a harbour city is that there’s public transport not only on the roads and railways, but on the water too! These bright yellow taxis ferry people around Sydney Harbour, although I must admit I’ve never ridden in one!
I tried out a new technique for this painting – after a quick pencil sketch I painted all the darks, and the final lines, in permanent black ink. (You can see the photo of this on my Instagram feed if you’re interested). Then when it was dry I painted over the top using acrylics. I deliberately didn’t attempt to hide the outlines – I quite like the look; as my wife rather brilliantly pointed out, I do love pen and ink and this look is a lot like that.
This one’s destined for somebody on the Postcard Art Group!
