Portrait of Tim

I looked forward to doing this portrait for almost a week before I had time to do it. If you check out Tim’s Instagram, he has a really cool black and white aesthetic, a kind of 60’s rat pack cool, that I really wanted to capture. So, in a first for me, I used pen with dilute ink washes rather than watercolour.

While – as usual – the likeness isn’t as strong as I wanted, I really like how this came out, and thankfully, so does he. He’s done a portrait of me in return which I really like, he’s captured a weary quality that I very much relate to. You can see it in his instagram feed.
